Oh the curse of Spring! One of our highly valued Client Services Team is off to pastures new. She and her beau are off to London to seek out ‘the streets paved with gold’, as he’s been offered a well-heeled opportunity with one of those German automobile businesses. What that means for us is that we’re keen to find an equally talented and capable individual to fill that position. This is an excellent chance for someone to take on a role with responsibility, authority and personal development opportunities.

No surprise; we’re looking for someone good who will be an integral part of the team, who we anticipate developing within the business. It’s not necessarily about energy industry experience, [we believe that can be acquired], it’s about the right candidate, with a commercially mature outlook, an ability to think and take on responsibility. Due to an external error created by two telephone communications companies concerned with operation in Nottingham’s Lace Market area there were some problems with the usual 0115 910 9190 for a couple of weeks during late December. Fortunately this did not cause significant problems as we were able to use the alternative Torse number, 0115 853 2120, during this time – this was completely beyond our control. The communications companies have since restored the number.

Whilst the new Torse head office building could accurately be described as ‘old’, as they are Grade II listed buildings in the revitalised Lace Market area of Nottingham City Centre, we are excited about our new workspace in this vibrant area. A fair amount of preparation needs to be done first and but we will be moving into these attractive new premises  very soon! The move reflects an opportunity with the much increased space to build our client and supplier management teams, our data management and sustainability functions to enhance the levels of proactive support for Clients. There will be improved training and presentation facilities for internal activities and client and supplier visits.

Torse has been working in conjunction with ETC, The Environmental Technology Centre at Nottingham University, to balance Energy Management wishes with Conservation Area requirements. We have also been in discussion as to whether the Torse building could be linked into the Enviroenergy heating and energy network, although this may be a longer term project.
